Editorial: Mutant Extremists Continue to Invade MCP

Dear Readers,

Roughly 4 years ago we were treated to the creation of one of the finest table top games of our modern day: Marvel Crisis Protocol. Everything was safe and we enjoyed varied releases. Surprises like M.O.D.O.K. came alongside staples such as The Incredible Hulk, our Core Set was filled with varied villains and heroes at bargain prices, and we saw fan favorites such as Black Panther, Thor, and Miles Morales be released.

These were good times dear readers.

However, we have a major problem!

A year into the game’s existence we were exposed to a villainous group of models: the mutants. Some came in calling themselves the Brotherhood, promising the demise of humans and super-humans alike while the X-Men promised to assist us in the protection of all we hold dear in co-existence.

The X-Men lied.

Mutants have been invading and taking over Marvel Crisis Protocol for almost 3 years now, pushing out other releases in their bid to dominate everything in this game. At Adepticon this year roughly half of the teased models were Mutants. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Scott Summers claims that he is here to help us and that is why we have two, count them two, new affiliations led by mutants in this past year, bringing us up to 5, yes go and fact check this, 5 factions. What’s worse, when something is released for these factions more often than not they incestuously share multiple factions with each other, only bolstering the mutant numbers and viability. One of them is so diabolical that they infiltrate and convert every model in the game into their minion. Now, I don’t know about you, but true heroes wouldn’t work so tirelessly to create an army or bend the will of others with their psychic powers. It is called consent Emma, look it up.

This does not sound like a peaceful coexistence dear readers. This sounds like a silent war being waged by known terrorist Scott Summers and his lackeys in Krakoa. Need proof?! Look below as you see Scott Summers trying to kill the super-hero embodiment of American idealism and bravery.

If this doesn’t scream terrorist, then I don’t know what will. If this isn’t enough to convince you, we need to ask who follows this man. Three feral murderers, a thief, a time traveling mercenary, and a woman who will literally kill you with a touch. And this is only 6 of the ever growing roster of threats to us. We do not have time to go into the atrocities each of these mutants has been responsible for.

And Atomic Mass Games has decided that their numbers need to swell more? To bring more evil mutants who claim they are good? I applaud AMG for wanting to give them a chance to reform themselves, but I believe that their naivety is showing here. For those of us with our eyes open can see their machinations for what they are: world domination.

Where are the releases for Inhumans?! Fan(s) have been yelling for Scarlet Spiders, Silver Sable, Silk, and Spider-Girl. When will the Winter Guard’s numbers be bolstered? Will we ever see a Sentinels character below 4? The list goes on and on dear readers.

So, what can we do? How can we stop the mutant menace? I wish I had the answer to this question. It seems that nothing can stop this coalition of evil mutants from coming in and taking over Marvel Crisis Protocol. If we and the game continue to go down this route, the game will require a new name: Mutant Crisis Protocol. I, for one, fear this day above all others. All I can do is pray that AMG comes to its senses and halts production on all 2024 mutants and instead puts in true heroes for the game, not ones who only fight for themselves!
