Dear Reader,
While perusing the internets earlier today, I have come across a shocking revelation. Our beloved Atomic Mass Games have been obviously hiding something from us. Something so heinous, so intriguing, so gratuitous, that it only has one name. Cross Over.
That’s right folk, sources have told me that it is time for a crossover and I am having a feeling that it is time to bring it forward. From what I have seen on these sites providing images of the miniatures, they are from a series that you would have never thought of. Something so brave that it has never been done nor conceived before. It is time for the Marvel Universe to team up with a true giant in the industry. Capcom. You heard it here first folks, Marvel and Capcom have made an unprecedented move to create a roster of characters to invade the space of Marvel. Will we see new game modes? Will there be a tag team feature? Will there be a 3v3 format? Will there be some form of randomized helpers? We have already seen it before people with the Separation Anxiety event, how can we not have little helpers to come in to save the day?
But, I know what you’re thinking - “Foster, you ain’t got no proof. How are you going to make news with no proof? What are you, some sort of idiot?” While this may be true, I do have proof. I’ve seen the files. I HAVE SEEN THE MINIATURES. They are floating all over the internet and all you have to do is believe. You want to deny what I’ve seen? Behold, something like concepts:
I think that this opens us up to a whole new level of game play. Ryu could have ranged attacks that can push. His spender obviously being a beam that we could say is ranged 5 and knocks power off. Ryu is a man who believes in the warrior’s path and helping others achieve that path, but like a good sensei he has to be close to give his full instructions, so he is gonna need to be able to reposition people close by and provide power for their devastating spenders.
Megaman could steal powers or have some form of powered up state. I’m thinking he could be threat 3 with a blast attack for a spender and could spend power to raise his offensive stats. He could even, if Atomic Mass Games was ambitious enough, have a larger form that does more stuff, but if you get him on his dazed side he goes into a smaller Megaman that has to work his “power meter” back up to get large again. Both versions would obviously have some form of DR1, cause he has armor.
Morrigan would obviously use her hellish charms to shoot beams, take things from people, and move them around. Maybe she could get a couple of power a turn. Who knows? Obviously, she will be very very powerful in the right lists and could possibly get toned down in the future, but we are talking about the now baby.
The skies are the limit and I am just kind of spitballing ideas here.
Captain Commando obviously is out here shooting a barrage of bullets into enemies where he may hurt himself or shooting beams of fire to generate power. Boy has all that armor too so of course, like my boy Megaman X, he is gonna need that DR1 and Fly.
Monster Hunter Hunter? You know he is here with the melee attacks and rerolls. But, because his weapons are made of mystical monsters sometimes, he would obviously get mystic attacks. He has a ranged weapon, so he is gonna need to have that in the game too. All his things are bladed, so I think working him into a bleed themed kit would work out. Of course, a good hunter comes prepared, so being able to reroll some defensive dice and shake status effects without using an action would be needed. But, hunters also never go alone and are hyper mobile, so I think making him the leader of his own faction that allows for movement would be key.
Who else could we see come from this totally real concept? Ken, Guile, Chun Li (don’t look up Chun Li figures at work), Red Earth, Felicia (don’t…look up…Felicia figures AT WORK), Talbain, Queen Bee, Chris Redfield, Sonic the Hedgehog, Jill Valentine, Robocop, Viewtiful Joe, Godzilla, Lost Vikings, Barney, and of course, the most powerful of all, the very soul of Capcom himself, Phoenix Wright.
